Advanced Time Segmentation (ATS)

What is ATS?

What is ATS?

Advanced Time Segmentation®, or ATS for short, is an immediate or future retirement income strategy. ATS uses a time-segmented approach that, at its core, matches a client's assets with their liabilities.

The ATS strategy/concept draws upon years of academic research and mathematical calculations to address three important retirement facets:

  • Retirement Income Needs
  • Future Inflation Concerns
  • The overall risk of each client's unique situation

Each thoughtfully crafted ATS income plan is straightforward and easy to understand.  ATS income plans are designed to inspire confidence in retirement readiness by illustrating potential income roadmaps that can be adjusted to suit individual life circumstances.

How Advanced Time Segmentation Works

Read on for more information about the time segmentation process.

Lifetime Income

This Segment potentially provides investors with guaranteed income for life and is suitable for conservative investors who believe they have a long life expectancy.

Fixed Income

This Segment is designed to be spent down over 5-7 years thus "buying time" for the Balanced Segment to potentially grow. This category is usually invested in safe, sometimes guaranteed, investments.

Balanced

This Segment is a bridge between the Income Segment & Growth Segment. This Segment is designed to replenish the Fixed Income Segment resulting in additional time for your long-term investments to potentially grow.

Long-Term Growth

This Segment is designed for 15-25 years of growth. Since the other Segments have provided time, this Segment is designed to grow untouched for many years.

Income & Growth

This Segment is designed to provide both income & growth for the portfolio over the long-term. This category can include Alternative Investments. Income generated from this category may be used to supplement income required from the Lifetime Income & Fixed Income categories.
